Indian Cricket Team Schedule For Asia Cup 2022. The eagerly anticipated Asia Cup 2022 is scheduled to start on August 27. On August 2, Jay Shah, secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), posted a message on social media outlining the event’s itinerary.
Shah shared the event’s schedule on social media and claimed it would serve as an excellent lead-up to the forthcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, which would be held in Australia.
The opening match of the tournament will be between hosts Sri Lanka and Afghanistan, which will be followed by the most prominent encounter between India and Pakistan the two arch-rivals on 28th August. India will play its next game against a qualifier team on 31st August. The super 4 will begin on 3rd September and India will take on Pakistan for the 2nd time in 1 week on 4th September again if there are no major upsets in the group stage. India and Pakistan are expected to move to super 4 from Group A.
UAE Will Host The Tournament
The event was initially scheduled to take place in Sri Lanka, but it has been relocated to the UAE because of the nation’s continuing political and economic problems. India is the current champion and will start as the favourite in the 2022 competition.
UAE will host the tournament for the 2nd consecutive time as it also hosted the event in 2018 When India beat Bangladesh in the finals. The tournament will move back to be played in the 20-over format, the first time it was played in the 20-over format was in 2016 ahead of the T20 World Cup in India.
